The Division of Water Resources (the Division) was notified by you of an error in your recently issued
permit (July 6, 2016). The county reference was incorrect on page one (1) of the permit.
Accordingly, we hereby forward the modified permit pages to amend your permit correcting the county
reference to "Chatham County". Please insert these change pages into your existing permit and discard
the old pages. We regret any inconvenience this causes your organization.
Please note that this permit is not transferable except after notice to the Division. The Division may
require modification or revocation and reissuance of the permit. This permit does not affect the legal
requirements to obtain other permits which may be required by the Division of Water Resources or any
other Federal, State, or Local governmental permits that may be required.

TO DISCHARGE WASTEWATER UNDER THE
NATIONAL POLLUTANT DISCHARGE ELIMINATION SYSTEM
NPDES
In compliance with the provisions of North Carolina General Statute 143-215.1, other lawful standards
and regulations promulgated and adopted by the North Carolina Environmental Management
Commission, and the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, as amended,

is hereby authorized to discharge wastewater from a facility located at the
Nature Trail MHC WWTP
326 Nature Trail, Chapel Hill 27517
Chatham County
to receiving waters designated as Cub Creek in the Cape Fear River Basin, in accordance with effluent
limitations, monitoring requirements, and other conditions set forth in Parts I, II, III and IV hereof.
This permit shall become effective August 1, 2016.
This permit and authorization to discharge shall expire at midnight on April 3 0, 2021.

SUPPLEMENT TO PERMIT COVER. SHEET
All previous NPDES Permits issued- to this facility, whether for operation or discharge are hereby
revoked, and as of this issuance, any previously issued permit bearing this number is no longer
effective. Therefore, the exclusive authority to operate and discharge from this facility arises under the
permit conditions, requirements, terms, and provisions included herein.
Nature Trail Associates CLP
is hereby authorized to:
1. continue to operate an existing 0.04 MGD wastewater treatment facility with the following
components;
♦ influent pump station
♦ equalization basin
♦ flow splitter box
♦ aeration basins
♦ dual clarifiers
♦ aerobic sludge digesters
♦ effluent chlorination
♦ dechlorination
♦ flow monitoring
located at the Nature Trail MHC WWTP, 326 Nature Trail, Chapel Hill, NC, Chatham County,
2. upon receiving an Authorization to Construct from the Division, construct and (after submitting an
engineer's certification form) operate facilities for a design capacity of 0.060 MGD, and
3. discharge from said treatment works via Outfall 001, at the location specified on the attached map
into Cub Creek [16-41-2-10-(0.5)], a waterbody currently classified WS-IV; NSW waters located
within Subbasin 03-06-05 [HUC: 030300020607] of the Cape Fear -River Basin.
