NATIONAL POLLUTANT DISCHARGE ELIMINATION SYSTEM
In compliance with the provision of North Carolina General Statute 143-215.1, other lawful standards
and regulations promulgated and adopted by the North Carolina Environmental Management
Commission, and the Federal Water Pollution Control Act, as amended,
Nature Trail Associates
is hereby authorized to discharge wastewater from a facility located at the
Nature Trails Mobile Home Park
101 Nature Trails
Chapel Hill
Chatham County
to receiving waters designated as Cub Creek in the Cape Fear River Basin
in accordance with effluent limitations, monitoring requirements, and other conditions set forth in Parts I,
II, III, and IV hereof.
The permit shall become effective May 1, 1996.
This permit and the authorization to discharge shall expire at midnight on March 31, 2001.

SUPPLEMENT TO PERMIT COVER SHEET
Nature Trail Associates
is hereby authorized to:
1. Continue to operate a 0.040 MGD extended aeration wastewater treatment plant consisting of an
influent pump station, aeration basins, dual clarifiers, aerobic sludge digestors, tertiary sand
filters, chlorination equipment, and effluent measurement devices located at Nature Trails Mobile
Home Park, 101 Nature Trails, Chapel Hill, Chatham County (See Part III of this Permit), and
2. Discharge from said treatment works at the location specified on the attached map into Cub
Creek which is classified Class WS-IV NSW waters in the Cape Fear River Basin.

During the period beginning on the effective date of the permit and lasting until March 31, 1997, the Permittee is authorized to discharge from

Permits & Engineering Comments:
The discharge monitoring reports showed few violations for BOD5, ammonia and fecal
coliform, within the past 24 months. Upstream and downstream monitoring showed very
slight depletion levels in dissolved oxygen. Recommend existing limits with 2.0 mg/1
ammonia (summer) and 5.0 mg/1 ammonia (winter) and upgrade monitoring as per
regulations for class H facilites.
