Please note that the sediment originated from an adjacent stream whose banks overflowed. The waters then crossed an adjacent haul road (partially eroding the road) and deposited into the wetland. NCDOT does not believe that the sediment originated from any of its work sites and was not due to any failed erosion control measures. I have instructed the contractors to remove the sediment by hand to the pre-flood level of the wetland and to re-vegetate with a wetland vegetative mix. Please let me know if you would like anything else done or if you have any questions. Jerry Parker Email correspondence to and from this sender is subject to the N.C.
