The City discontinued the production of Class A material and has been disposing of residuals at a RCRA approved landfill since August 1998. The current lined municipal solid waste landfill (Haywood County Landfill) is located at 3898 Fines Creek Road, Waynesville, N.C. (828-627-6445). Total material disposed of in 2023 was 763.7 dry tons. Should the City of Hendersonville resume activities related to the permit referenced above, your office would be notified and compliant with the application, testing, and reporting requirements contained in the current permit will resume.
