Comment: I met with Marla (NCWRCI and DOT staff (Heath and Greq1 to review the culvert at Site 50. Marla aqreed
to removal of the baseflow inlet sill to improve flow and aquatic passaqe ASAP or followinq trout
moratorium. The hiqh flow barrel was to be backfilled once an outlet sill was installed alonq with flood
plain benches. We aareed to review at a later date to evaluate efficacv of sill removal and proceed
accordinqly with addtional riprap if needed. Part of the problem was inlet aliqnment. The stream channel
thalwaq hits the riqht winqwall instead of the barrel.
