This notice gives you instructions on how to submit payment and the response requirement. Frye Regional Medical Center will be in the paper for the violation and a detailed report will be submitted with my Pretreatment Annual Report to NCDEQ. Frye Regional Medical Center (pipe 2) was in Significant Non-Compliance for two consecutive semi- annual periods. This requires a compliance schedule and consent order. Once those have been approved, 1 will set up a meeting with your staff to go over the requirements. NCDEQ takes this very seriously and there will be multiple additional requirements other than your regular permit requirements. Please let me know if you have any questions, Morgan C. Frye Regional Medical Center (pipe 2) was in Significant Non-Compliance for both semi-annual periods during 2023 for phenol. Once a compliant schedule is approved you will be contacted by the Pretreatment Coordinator with instructions on moving forward. The payment of this penalty will not foreclose further enforcement action for any continuing or new violation(s). Remedial actions, if not already implemented, should be taken to correct the problem(s). If you have questions, please call this office at(828) 322-4821. Previous Notices of Non-Compliance outline requirement to show a return to compliance. The violations will also be listed in my Pretreatment Annual Report that is submitted to NCDEQ.The facility and accompanying violations will also go to Public Notice in the local newspaper this month. Please ensure that the facility isn't in Significant Non-Compliance for the same violation during the current period. If this happens, the facility will be required to be under a consent order/compliance schedule. NCDEQ takes Significant Non-Compliance very seriously and the best way to avoid these situations is to become familiar with your Industrial User Permit and keep an open line of communication so that any issues can be taken care of promptly.
