Hi Andrew,
Thank you for the review and comments. I am working on the bond renewal now. Should I have it mailed to your
attention?
Also, just to confirm, will I send the credit release request through Laserfiche?
As for a site visit, whatever date works best for you all. I would say anything except the last week of March due to
PTO. We can discuss on the site visit, but 5 out of 46 plots were failing (roughly 11%), which doesn't represent
widespread problems. Would it be helpful for us to conduct transects near the failing plots before we have a site
visit?
Thanks,
Cara

Subject: Monitoring Report MY4 Review - Hollowell Site
Dear Cara,
DWR has reviewed the MY4 report for the Hollowell mitigation site and have the following
comments:
1. The resolution of encroachment issues and problem vegetation areas from MY2 is noted.
2. Based on data in report as a whole, the stem height, vigor and density data are concerning
throughout the site. Additionally, multiple plots such as 25, 29, 38, and 41 that were concerning in
year 3 have either remained stationary or regressed to not meeting success criteria rather than
improving. DWR is not confident that this site is on trajectory to meeting expectations for
performance criteria in year 5.
3. DWR acknowledges that WLS proposes additional transects near failing plots to show they are not
representative of the surrounding area but is concerned that no other actions are proposed before
MY5 with how widespread the problems appear to be.
4. DWR would like to request a Site Visit this Spring after leaf out, sometime around late March or
early April to assess the site condition in person and if further adaptive management actions
might be needed in MY5 before closeout. Please respond to this comment with proposed dates
for the site visit.
The Year 4 monitoring report for Hollowell is approved. Please provide confirmation of bond
renewal through next year's monitoring period. DWR does not approve a 20% reduction in
bond amount and asks that the bond be renewed at $40,000.
Once DWR receives your bond renewal, we can proceed issuing the credit release for this task.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Best,
Andrew Friedman -Herring
