The process begins with slaughtered and slightly processed received proteins, with further processing such as cut-up and tray -pack taking place for retail sale. The facility does not utilize any chemicals within this manufacturing process, however there are biological agents such as blood that have the ability to be contained within the wastewater as a result of the slaughtering and further processing. The only chemicals that are utilized in any processes are those used in the daily sanitation process. These chemicals are chlorinated degreasing agents and Dawn Dish Detergent. These cleaning agents are utilized to clean processing equipment, work areas, and surfaces before final wash -down.
