I want to determine if the proposed bridges are adequate to serve the project area’s wildlife or if other locations should be targeted for wildlife crossings of some sort. As you are aware, going from a 2-lane road to a 4-lane divided facility greatly reduces the likelihood of animals safely crossing the road and is a significant safety issue, as well as habitat connectivity and population viability issue. Many motorists will break and swerve to avoid even the smallest animals (like me). Thanks for your attention to this issue, Marla 1 Marla Chambers // NCDOT Coordinator Habitat Conservation Program NC Wildlife Resources Commission c/o NCDOT 206 Charter Street Albemarle, North Carolina 28001 office: 704-982-9181 mobile: 704-984-1070 Marla.chambers@ncwildlife.org ncwildlife.org From: Reynolds, Karen S Sent: Wednesday, September 09, 2015 4:06 PM To: john.t.thomas.jr@usace.army.mil; Van Der Wiele, Cynthia; Wanucha, Dave; marella_buncick@fws.gov; Chambers, Marla J; Gledhill-earley, Renee; grege@cityofws.org; tyler.meyer@ci.greensboro.nc.us; craig.mckinney@ci.greensboro.nc.us Cc: Weaver, Derrick G; Midkiff, Eric; Ivey, Stephen P; Raulston, Keith E; Mills, James M; Eason, Patty P; Houser, Anthony A; Teague, Jeff L; Harris, Casey E; Braxton, John W; Lauffer, Matthew S; Elam, William H; Dagnino, Carla S; Mason, James S; Lewis, Ed F; Euliss, Amy; Hill, Len (Len.Hill@aecom.com) Subject: R-2577ABC CP2A Meeting Packet (US 158 Improvements - Walkertown & Stokesdale) Everyone, Attached is the R-2577ABC CP2A informational packet for our upcoming CP2A Merger Meeting in Winston-Salem, on Tuesday, September 29, 2015.
