No�ce Of Discharge of Untreated Sewage

The Town of Spindale experienced an overflow at Oak St Pump Sta�on located at 683 Thunder
Road, Rutherfordton, NC on 1/9/2024. This resulted in an overflow of sanitary sewer and the loss
of approximately 6,000 gallons of untreated wastewater into Stonecuter Creek. Town staff
quickly responded and took correc�ve ac�on to remedy the issue. The North Carolina Division of
Water Quality was no�fied of the spill. This no�ce was required by North Carolina General Statute
