Hello Brittany,
I am the Environmental Coordinator at the Michelin Aircraft Tire facility in Norwood, NC (NPDES
Permit NCS000373).
Bethany Georgoulias mentioned that you would be able to assist me in finding the appropriate contact
at the regional office to request a site visit in order to have the outfalls on our permit revised.
We currently have 5 outfalls listed on our permit: 01, 01 A, 01B, 01C, and 02. We would like to have
01A, 01 B, and 01 C removed.
Outfall 01A is fed by the gutters on our guard house. The line does have a storm drain grate, but it
does not receive any stormwater with industrial contact. The area surrounding the grate has been
graded such that water flows towards our retention pond (Outfall 01).
Outfall 01 B has physically been removed from the site - the storm drain grate and surrounding area
was removed, and the opening concreted over.
Outfall 01 C is a drain line for our process water pond that is bolted shut. This drain line is not used
and is not a stormwater outfall.
Thank you for your assistance. If you need further information, please let me know.
Best,
Alyssa BASS
