Dear Ms. Manuel,
Please be advised that ongoing remedial action is being taken to correct the deficiencies in the
collection system contributing to the sanitary sewer overflow in the referenced NOV received
January 2, 2024.
On November 13, 2023, during a normally programmed exercise of the generator at the
Greenbriar Pump Station the battery backup failed. When the pump station attempted to transfer
back to utility power after exercising the generator under load, the battery backup failed to
maintain the programmable logic controller (PLC) until it could restart on utility power. This
resulted in pump station failure and a complete loss of communications with the monitoring
system. A technician was dispatched and discovered the battery backup failure. Corrective action
was taken to restart the pump station. We currently perform quarterly and annual preventative
maintenance on all our pump station backup generators. We will now include annual
replacement of all batteries regardless of their condition to prevent a recurring circumstance.
