Sprinkle Jr. WTF Randall Wilson Water Treatment Supervisor/ORC NCDEQ/DWR/NPDES 828-658-2417 Corrective Action Plan for Copper (CU). The Town of Weaverville takes all compliance issues very seriously with the upmost of importance. • The town has analyzed all data dating back to January 2015 to try to see any possible trends with copper testing results. What we can best determine is that the town has only had two occurrences where the results submitted to the town from a third-party laboratory were readable results above the minimum testable limit. Once in July of 2017 with that level being 11u I and then once in August ust of g 2021 and that level was 4ug/I. In finding this, it is very difficult to track what could be the cause of it being so random. • In 2022 the town collected two effluent copper samples a month. All those test results came back <1 ug/L. Starting in January 2023 we will be collecting two Effluent samples and Raw Water samples a month on the same days as our effluent samples are collected. Hopefully this will tell us if it is coming from our source water. • After collecting all the data from our effluent and our source water in 2023 I have determined that the copper is coming from our source water. In 2023 our test results showed that we had Copper above the reportable limit of <1 ug/L 17 times that ranged from 1 ug/L to 3.37 ug/L from the source water. Our effluent test results showed that we had gone above the reportable limit of <1 2 times. Once was in April 2023 it was a 2 ug/L the other time was in September 2023 it was 1.54 ug/L. I have spoken to Lauren Armeni and Daniel Boss about Copper being in our source water. • In 2024 we will be continuing to collect two Effluent and two Source water samples a month to be tested for copper. We will be monitoring the results for any changes. Randall Wilson Water Treatment Supervisor/ORC
