HomeMy WebLinkAboutNC0025321_SOC Quarterly Report - January 2024_202401041/4/2023 QUARTERLY REPORT As required by SOC Secon 2 (B) 8. Headworks: Work has been ongoing on the headworks area. Concrete work is finished, and leak tesng has been completed. Backfilling has begun in secons of the new headworks. Aeraon basin: Work is now complete in the aeraon basin. The new blowers are operaonal and are doing great. I am expecng big savings on our power bill due to the efficiency improvements from our old blower to the new ones. The new diffusers are all in and complete. This takes us from the old tube style coarse air diffusers to the membrane disc diffusers. The O2 transfer is way beter now. I really feel like this is a great improvement that will give us much beter treatment in the acvated sludge process. Secondary clarifiers: Harper started laying the HDPE pipe for the bypass that will allow them to access the secondary clarifiers. Once the plumbing is in place, we will pump straight form the exisng headworks to the aeraon basin. Then flow will be diverted out of the aeraon basin to the primary clarifiers. This will isolate the secondaries to allow the rehab work to begin there. Belt filter press: Work is scheduled to begin next week (JAN 8) to start the belt press rehab. This will take approximately 4 weeks to complete. This will give us a more dependable press and help us get sludge out more consistently. Overall: I think we are geng to the turning point in the project. When we have days that the flow is normal, we make good water. Having to divert flow for various projects has been a bit problemac for the operaon of the plant. One example, Harper had to place a temporary bypass around a set of exisng valves for those to be replaced.
