On November 08, 2023, Marine Corps Installations East -Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune (MCIEAST-MCB CAMLEJ) removed the priming bulb from the TT99 diesel bypass pump and subsequently confirmed that other pump/lift station pumps on the Base do not have priming bulbs. 2. On November 15, 2023, MCB CAMLEJ replaced the transformer supporting pump/lift station TT99 (TT99). 3. The MCB CAMLEJ staff are planning substantial improvements to the force main supported by TT99 and the nearby area. A proposed military construction project providing a redundant force main will likely be forwarded to Marine Corps Installations Command to compete for congressional approval and funding consideration. The command is also planning local projects to improve the berm separating TT99 and the Northeast Creek and cap a legacy stormwater pipe downgradient of TT99 that leads to the creek. 4. MCB CAMLEJ implements an "in-house" wastewater collection system "Capital Improvement Plan" (CIP) to designate funding for reinvestment into the wastewater collection system. A proposed services contract for updating the CIP is awaiting funding. 5. MCB CAMLEJ employees monitor and perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs on the wastewater collection system. The MCB CAMLEJ wastewater collection system is supported with an updated Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. The SCADA system continuously monitors wastewater collection system performance, enabling remote detection and correction of any operating deficiencies, and informed prioritization of maintenance and repair resources. 6. MCB CAMLEJ performs annual wastewater collection system maintenance, prioritizing military family housing and other areas where fats, oils, and grease (FOG) tend to accumulate. The command also has established collection points and frequencies for pumping and cleaning grease traps. The command's Environmental Standard Operating Procedures also include an FOG education program for military family housing residents. Enclosure 1
