Disinfection: The system uses a tablet chlorination disinfection unit for disinfection of wastewater. The chlorine tablet disinfection system should be checked weekly to ensure proper disinfection of the wastewater prior to spray irrigation. The tablet chlorinator was located at the time of inspection. The tablet feeder was secured and could not be determined if tablets were evident in the chlorinator. The supply of the correct tablets was not verified at the time of inspection. The control junction box with visual high- level indicator was located and was found to be unsecured and the electric controls to the irrigation/dosing pump not plugged in to the GFCL Please forward documentation and/or a maintenance receipt for these repairs along with documentation of the correct chlorination tablets to this office within 30 days of receipt of this letter, 4. Any visible signs of a malfunctioning system shall be documented, and steps taken to correct the problem. At the time of inspection, the spray irrigation system was not evaluated for proper operation. The spray field vegetative cover was in good condition, there was no evidence of surface runoff or ponding. A section of the fence needs to be repaired. All spray heads were intact and appeared to be in good operational order. Please continue to periodically inspect and evaluate the wastewater spray irrigation system components are properly maintained and operating as designed. Maintain all associated operational records onsite for a period of five years as required by the subject permit.
