General Information Responsible Entity: Town of Clayton Wastewater Treatment Facility Name: Little Creek Water Reclamation Facility (LCWRF) ORC: James Warren--LCWRF Byron Poelman--Collection System NPDES Permit: NC0025453 (LCWRF) Collection System: WQCS00110 Laboratory Certification: 348 Description of Treatment Process and Collection System: The LCWRF is comprised of an automated barscreen, grit chamber, sampling station, flow monitoring, dual oxidation ditches with biological nutrient removal, tertiary filter, ultraviolet disinfection, standby chlorination & dechlorination, sludge thickening , aerated sludge storage and reclaim water. The wastewater collection system is comprised of 31 lift stations, approximately 108 miles of gravity sewer and approximately 28 miles of force main. II. Performance The collection system recorded a good performance record for the twelve-month period from July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015. The facility met all the permit conditions during the period. Sanitary sewer overflows that release 1,000 gallons or more and/or enter surface waters must be reported to the State of North Carolina. The treatment facility treated 603,059,000 gallons during the period and met NPDES permit limits. The treatment facility experienced 1 spill(s) during the period. The treatment facility delivered 9,492,305 gallons of reclaimed water to Pine Hollow Golf Course. The collection system had 6 overflows during the period that did not meet the reporting criteria. The collection system had 4 overflows during the period that did require reporting. Chemical Root Control was used on lines with roots causing the SSO. The system also distributed Grease Public Education materials to all residents in accordance with requirements. No environmental impacts or adverse health effects were detected. The following improvements were made to the collection system during the twelve-month period: • Sewer Easement Stabilization/Repairs $8,307 • Glen Haven/Wal-Mart L/S By-pass pump connection installation $16,210 • NRLS #1, Pump, Base, and Piping upgrade $14,530 • NRLS#2, Install Flow Meter and Vault $20,736 • Olde Towne L/S, Wet Well Replacement Valve Vault Installation $6,439 • Cobblestone #1 L/S, abandon station and install gravity sewer lines$37,171 • Install SCADA system for 4 L/S Upgrade 27 others $199,055 • Chemical Root Control $9,456 • Clearing/Vegetation Control on easements $6,040 • Manhole I&I rehab $84,987 • E. Front St. sewer line replacement $19,972 • Design Rollingwood Gravity sewer extension, continued $7,258 • Design 2014 Street Improvement Project sewer replacement $44,400 • Continue CMMS Development $22,634 • CAT 308E2 Excavator/Trailer, equipment purchase $125,976 • Tandem Dump Truck purchase $137,775 • Crane Truck/Body purchase $48,505 The cost of these improvements was approximately $ 809,451 The following improvements were made at the treatment facility during the twelve-month period. • Upgraded Effluent Pump Drives $30,000 • Rehabilitated Clarifier One $50,000 The cost of these improvements was approximately $ 80,000 III. Notification A notice of availability is published in the Clayton News-Star and at www.townofclaytonnc.org. A report may be picked up from the customer service counter at Town Hall or the Operations Center at 653 NC 42 West. Customers may also call 919-553-1530 to request a copy by mail.
