This Office would like to thank you for all your efforts during the recent closure activities at the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). The closure activities were confirmed as being adequate and as indicated in the Division's email to you dated December 5, 2023, the NPDES Permit for this WWTP has been rescinded. Closure activities were initiated in November 2023 and have been properly completed. The facility requested permit recission on 12/5/2023 (via email) and the Division rescinded the permit on the same date (via email). Comment: DWR/MRO staff inspected the site on 12/5/2023 and all treatment structures/units have been removed and properly disposed. All residual wastewater was removed/disposed by a contracted company. Alluvium Construction was contracted to oversee the closure activities with all structural material (concrete, sand, etc.) being transported and disposed at the CMS Landfill located in Concord, N.C. Pictures and disposal manifests were given to DWR/MRO staff during the inspection. Adequate erosion control measures (silt fencing, seeding/straw, etc.) were incorporated at the previous WWTP site.
