Inspection Summary:
A routine compliance inspection was performed by Morella Sanchez King with DWR on 08/24/2023. The DWR appreciates
Mr. Gregory Spillman, ORC, with Carolina Water Service for his assistance during the inspection.
Four pump stations were inspected: #2 Azalea Drive, #4 Country Club Dr (PS#2), #7 end of Yacht Basin Landing, and #8
Azalea Dr.
The following items were verified (more details are included in the body of this report)
• Operator's certification- Gregory Spillman, grade 4, No. 1009335
• Map with the location of the entire system- provided
Review of logs and collection system related documentation- provided
Testing emergency equipment (generators)- inspected
Maintenance/ cleaning of the pump stations - inspected
The Division commends the (1) organization of logs and documentation of this collection system; (2) functionality of
emergency equipment— generators and telemetry/alarms functioned properly on the inspection date; (3) maintenance of the
system.
There is one item that needs the Permittee's attention. The inspection to PS#2 showed that the work at this PS has not
been completed (missing rail supports, replacement or relocation of the control box supports, etc.). This was reported in the
previous inspection in 2020. At that time, it was indicated that the work had been scheduled and seemed that it was going
to be finished within a short period of time. However, the work has not been done. Therefore, a Notice of Violation will be
issued.
