Inspection Date: 11/21/2023 Inspection Type: Compliance Evaluation Reason for Visit: Routine
Inspection Summary:
A routine inspection of the Sandpiper Bay WWTP was conducted on November 21, 2023. The purpose of the evaluation was
to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in Permit W00013398.
Sunny Wright, David Wright and Tim Tilma were present during the inspection.
This facility is a 150,000 GPD extended aeration plant that generates reclaimed effluent that is irrigated on the dedicated
fields associated with the Bay Golf Course. Permitted flow of the irrigation system is 306,500 GPD, which corresponds with
the disposal capacity of the current permitted fields. An average of 71,065 GPD of wastewater was treated in October 2023.
A review of records since 2015 shows only two violations; a NOD for TSS exceedances in October 2017 and a NOV for
ammonia exceedance in August 2019.
Continuous progress in repairs has been made or are scheduled since the last inspection. Recently, the facility was
approved to increase the utility rates. Staff indicated that this will help them make more of the necessary repairs and
improvments to the system going forward.
The facility is compliant with Non -Discharge Permit WQ0013398. Please review the comment sections of the inspection
report for more details.
