1. FACILITY SUMMARY
Forbush Elementary School sends 100% domestic discharge to the Forbush Elementary School WWTP.
This is a minor facility (flow < 1 MGD) with a design capacity and permitted wastewater discharge of 0.006
MGD that includes the following components:
• Equalization basin
• Bar screen
• Dual aeration basins
• Dual clarifiers
• Ultraviolet disinfection
• Tablet -type chlorination & dechlorination [backup disinfection]

RENEWAL SUMMARY
This renewal contains the following changes:
Updated Section A. (4) to reflect current federal requirements for Electronic Reporting of
Discharge Monitoring Reports.
Add UV condition section A (2)
Corrected ammonia monthly average limit for winter to be no less stringent than two times the
summer limit as per 15A NCAC 0213.0404 (c). A review of past NH3 data shows that they can
meet this new limit; no compliance schedule needed.
COMPLIANCE HISTORY
Two notices of violation for fecal coliform in 2020 and 2022 respectively. No enforcements in last permit
cycle.
