Inspection Summary:
Site inspection was conducted on November 29, 2023 by Kevin Mitchell with the Asheville Regional Office. Ross
Straup was present during the inspection. The inspection was a follow up site visit for a self -reported sediment loss that
occurred on November 21, 2023. The following are items that need attention:
- Station L3 779+00 LT (Site 1) - Additional clean up was required. Photos documenting the cleanup were recieved on
11.29.23. Coir fiber was added to the bank. Remediation is complete.
- Station L3 832+00 RT (Site 6) - Inlet - Rip rap on the right bank descending needs to be repaired. Rip rap in channel
should be removed from the channel and mashed into the toe of the bank. May want to consider using larger material at
toe of channel.
- Station L3 867+00 RT (Site 9) - Remove coir log from JS. This should be done across the project if stream
cleanup/remediation is complete.
