Copper, Zinc, and Chloride Annual Report
In accordance with NCO078115 Condition A. (6.), Aqua North Carolina, Inc. (Aqua) makes
the following report summarizing actions taken toward compliance with the permit limits as
follows:
1. Aqua has completed special sampling of Aqua's wells, water system entry points
after treatment, and the wastewater treatment plant influent for multiple pollutants.
2. Based on the sampling, one water system entry point has an elevated zinc
concentration. Aqua will be completing additional sampling to verify the elevated
zinc concentration at this entry point.
3. If verified, Aqua will determine if the source of the zinc is a raw material used for
water treatment or from the treatment system piping.
4. Additionally, based on the water quality data obtained Aqua will pilot test reducing
the sequestration polyphosphate blend feed rate at the treatment locations.
