Subject: City of Brevard Neely Road Pump Station and Equalization Improvements
Application for 401 Water Quality Certification
Dear Ms. Higgins:
The City of Brevard proposes to construct a wastewater collection system project that includes a
new pump station on Neely Road near Lambo Creek, 2.3 miles of force main mostly along roads,
and an equalization tank for storage at the City's wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) on Wilson
Road in Transylvania County. The project will require a 401 Water Quality Certification for
temporary and permanent impacts to jurisdictional waters. Enclosed please find five copies of the
Preconstruction Notification application form with supporting documentation and plan sheets. Also
enclosed is a check for the permit fee.
We are also submitting this application under separate cover to Mr. David Brown of the US Army
Corps of Engineers, Mr. Bryan Tompkins of the US Fish and Wildlife Service, and Ms. Andrea Leslie
of the NC Wildlife Resources Commission.
