Project Initiation for the Proposed NC 54 Bypass (McCrimmon Parkway), TIP# U-5828,
Town of Morrisville, Wake County
The Town of Morrisville, in coordination with the North Carolina Department of Transportation
(NCDOT) is starting the project development, environmental, and engineering studies for the
proposed construction of the NC 54 Bypass (McCrimmon Parkway) from Airport Boulevard to Aviation
Parkway. This segment of McCrimmon Parkway will connect to a previous, Town-funded phase that
is currently under design from NC 54 to Airport Boulevard. Both projects will connect to an existing
section of McCrimmon Parkway on the west side of Airport Boulevard. McCrimmon Parkway is
proposed to be a 4 lane median divided curb and gutter parkway.
Attached for your reference are several maps for the subject project. We would appreciate any
information you might have that would be helpful in evaluating potential environmental impacts of the
project. If applicable, please identify any permits or approvals that may be required by your
agency/department. An agency scoping meeting is not anticipated for this project. An Environmental
Assessment (EA) is anticipated to be prepared in compliance with the State Environmental Policy Act.
Please provide written comments by September 30, 2015 via email or mail. Thank you for your
