Mr.Beggs,
This letter serves as notice of a vacancy in the primary ORC role for the Town of Clayton's reclamation facility under
NPDES permit number NC0025453.As of November 1,2023 the primary role of ORC within the Town of Clayton
will be vacant due to the medical retirement of our reclamation superintendent and current ORC William Simpson
(WW-4/1001099). In light of this situation,Salvadore Valdiviezo (WW-4/1001099),will act as surrogate under his
duties as the current backup ORC outlined in NCAC 15A NCAC 08G.200 series.
The Town of Clayton is committed to ensuring the continued effective management of our water resources during this
transition period. Our primary objective is to recruit and appoint a permanent Water Resources Superintendent who
will serve as the new primary ORC.Based on the Town's recruiting schedule,we anticipate having a new individual in
the primary ORC within 120 days,as mandated by Section.0205.The job posting for this position closed 10/31/2023.
Initial interviews will begin the week of 11/6/2023 with intent to have the position filled by the end of the calendar year.
In the meantime,Salvadore Valdiviezo,as the designated backup ORC,will be fully supported and provided with the
necessary resources to execute his duties as the surrogate ORC and maintain complaince.
