E. Impact Justification and Mitigation
1. Avoidance and Minimization
1a. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts in designing the project:
We are using a headwall and the side slopes have been steepened to 2:1. The fill from the existing crossing will be included in this crossing minimizing
the impact.
1b. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts through construction techniques:
The wetlands in the vicinity of the crossing will be clearly marked with silt fence in the field. A pump around will be used during the crossing instillation.
The crossing construction will not be conducted during periods of high water flow or when rain fall is predicted. The impact are will immediately be
stabilized with a ground cover. an approved sediment and erosion control plan will be used on this project and the project will be inspected for
compliance by Johnston County inspectors.
