The following is the additional information that we discussed yesterday and some additional information about water quality standards if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Water and soil samples should be collected before any disturbance takes place, and please indicate which lab(s) the water samples will be processed. Also water samples should be taken quarterly (if possible in the months of June and September specifically) and results of all water tests and soil analysis sent to DWR via email at Michael.meilinger@deg.nc.gov or mailed to 127 Cardinal Drive Wilmington, NC 28405. Water samples should be taken at minimum in 4 spots around the project area, the attached image with yellow dots for your reference is where DWR recommends that these samples be taken. Please add to your additional information response when the disturbance and the addition of fertilizer will occur, you stated yesterday that it would be in April or May. Please include in your updated narrative or information that if water sample levels exceed water quality standards for SA;HQW water, then you will notify the DWR Wilmington office and application of fertilizer will stop and water quality monitoring will continue until levels return to standard levels, 15A NCAC 02B .0221, 15A NCAC 02B .0220, and 15A NCAC 02B .0224 are attached for your reference. Please send the contact information for the principal investigator on Sapelo Island Georgia.
