RESOLUTION TO GRANT 10/70 ALLOCATION TO
• THE TOWN OF COOLEEMEE
WHEREAS,Davie County is subject to the state water supply watershed protection regulations
established in G.S.143-214.5.;and
WHEREAS, Davie County lawfully established a water supply-watershed protection program
on or before January 1,1994,and
WHEREAS,Davie County was granted the right to cover up to ten percent of-its-Watershed area
outside of the critical area up to seventy percent built-upon in accordance with 15A NCAC-02B
.0216;and
WHEREAS, Davie County currently has 7,702 acres of remaining allocation in the WS-IV
protected area;and
WHEREAS,the Town of Cooleemee is a legally incorporated municipality located within Davie
County,North Carolina,and
WHEREAS,the town is in the process of establishing a planning program;and
WHEREAS the town's jurisdiction lies within the S- Water er W IV - t supply wat shed protection.
area for the South Yadkin River mandated by the state;and
'WHEREAS, much of the growth expected to occur in southern Davie County is projected to
occur within the jurisdiction of Cooleemee;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners•of Davie.County
hereby'grants the Town of Cooleemee 8.2 acres of its remaining 10/70 allocation to be used at
the sole discretion of the town to enhance and encourage growth in southern Davie:County.
Adopted by the Davie County Board of Commissioners during a regular session'on this 21s'day
of November;2005.
