The GW and'WQ Section along with a soil scientist did conduct
site visits to all the sites (291.03 acres, excluding buffers,
in Fay. Reg.) in the proposed permit amendment. It was our
unanimous opinion that the sites in the proposal. were well
selected and the soil conditions should be suitable. A copy of
the FRO WQ Engineers comments is also attached for your
information.
I have created an Arcview project for -the Sanford sites in.
FRO. RCO may have access to any or all of the data upon
request.
The sites are recommended for approval without any monitoring
needed. Call if you have any questions.

On Wednesday, June 5.12002; Vincent Lewis, _Soil Scientist, Division of Soil and- Water,
Wilmington Regional Off ce; Art Barnhardt, Groundwater Section, Fayetteville Regional Office
and I met with SYNAGRO Representative, Jeff Spivey, to- perforMa site review of proposed
land application:sites:located in Montgomery County that are within the Fayetteville Region.
All sites -were :owned. by Mt. Bobby Myrick of Montgomery County.' The total acreage
(applicable) is approximately 291.03 acres.
The sites were_all utilized for -pasture either Coastal Bermuda and Matua or Fescue. All
sites were access controlled and'fairly, isolated, There were several homes located near the
property that's owried:by Mr. Myrick's family members:. If the buffer waiver agreement .is not
supplied, then the 400 ft buffer -requirement should be -implemented. .
All sites were reviewed -by Mr. Lewis and he concurred with the Soil, Series analysis by
borings. Please find attached the listing of all fields, slops, soil. series and location (latitude'and
longitude). Mr. Lewis's check indicates that the site is acceptable.
Based on our evaluation," it is the recommendation that. all sites observed are well suited
for land application of residuals if,properly managed.
