Good Morning Jamey, Attached is the Year 3 monitoring credit release letter for the: RES Yadkin 01 UMB - Scout Mitigation Site/ SAW‐2017-01469/ Davie County. IRT comments on the MY3 Report are incorporated in this email. Make sure all comments are addressed in the next monitoring report. **The Corps agrees to the M&M bond reduction for Bond No. SUR0069926 in conjunction with the Year 4 credit release, in the amount of $66,796.57, per the bond reduction schedule. Maria Polizzi (NCDWR) comments: 1. Species diversity still appears to be low in MY3 for most plots. Although species count appears to be higher on average in the random veg plots than in the stationary plots. Will any additional species be planted to improve diversity? 2. DWR is curious about the status of the large existing wetland on the southern portion of the site since it is so close to the restored channel. Based on visual observations have there been any significant changes to hydrology in this location? Are any changes to wetland extent expected based on field observations? Casay Haywood (USACE) comments: 1. We appreciate the immediate resolution of the encroachment. Given some of the issues with CH1 (potential tampering), we strongly encourage quarterly inspection of monitoring gauges. 2. Please note that vegetation plot 3 and 7 are dominated by a single species. Per the 2016 Guidance, and as indicated on page 3 of the report, any single species can only account for up to 50 percent of the required stems within any vegetation plot, and any stems in excess of 50 percent should not be used to demonstrate success. 3. The formatting of the 2023 HC3 stage recorder data needs QAQC; the graph is too large for the page. This electronic copy is an official Department of the Army Notification. If you wish to receive a paper copy, one will be mailed upon request. Please let me know if you have any questions.
