Implementation Status of the Stormwater Program*
Please describe summary of implementation and compliance status.
Program has been implemented for 18 years.The City of Rocky Mount received a Notice of Violation following the previous audit in 2021.The
program has provided all required documentation since.The Minimum Control Measures are implemented in the City.The City is awaiting
approval of permit renewal along with its updated Stormwater Management Plan.This document provides updated annual and ongoing goals for
the City's stormwater management program.
Are there any proposed changes/revisions to the Stormwater Program?*
Include revisions to assessment of controls and any fiscal analysis revisions.Note:Proposed changes shall be submitted as part of a revised
Stormwater Management Plan(SWMP).
An updated SWMP has been submitted to the NC DEQ for review.Updated milestones associated with the revised SWMP include increased
outreach and public involvement,development of new SOPS for operations,increased training of staff,updates to stormwater and illicit
Discharge ordinances,and increased compliance monitoring.Progress is being made on several of these metrics while the City awaits approval.
In 2022,the City had revised all of its stormwater related ordinances.Internal training of all field operations staff now occurs annually for spill
response and PPGH measures.A formal illicit discharge program and spill response plan has been prepared.Student outreach and education has
increased during Fiscal Year 2022.Other documents and programs are also being expanded/developed.
