Site inspection was conducted on October 18, 2023 by Kevin Mitchell with the Asheville Regional Office. Mark Davis,
Kevin Barnett, and David McHenry were present during the inspection. The following are items that need attention:
Section CC
- Station Y2 68+00 LT (Site 15) - Rip rap channel looks much better and is keyed in per plans.
- Station Y2 27+50 LT (Site 7&8) - After looking at the plans closer, it appears the wetland has been impacted from a
newly installed drain. Please confirm. Erosion control is also needed above the JS. Remove loose fill material in JS.
Rip rap at outlet needs to be keyed in.
- Section CA
- Station L 163+00 LT (Site 19) - Outlet needs to be stabilized before next rain event.
- Station L 137+25 LT (Site 14) - Disturbed wetland (permitted impact) needs to be seeded and stabilized. Use native
seed mix.
- Station L 134+50 LT (Site 13) - Stabilize fill slopes above JS. Add coir fiber matting to JS on inlet side.
- Station L 129+25 LT (Site 12) - Add coir fiber to JS stream banks at inlet. Rip rap at outlet needs to be embedded/
keyed in better. Install silt fence above rip rap to protect JS at outlet.
- Station L 114+00 LT (Site 10) - Need EC measures above headwall (inlet).
- Station L 44+75 RT (Site 4) - Seed and mat slopes above inlet.
Continue to meet NPDES cover requirements.
