Temporary construction runoff will be controlled by using Silt Fence, Special Sediment Control Fence Sections, Rock Silt Checks with Matting and Quality Impacts) Flocculant, Impervious Dikes, Special Stilling Basins, Rock Pipe Inlet Sediment Traps, and Rock Inlet Sediment Traps, Clean Water Diversions and Temporary Matting and Grassing. The existing 26' continuous span bridge will be replaced with a double 12' X 6' partially buried box culvert. The proposed roadway will have a 2% normal crown and will drain through grass shoulders, roadside ditches, and existing drainage structures, no new drainage structures are proposed. The roadside ditches will be maintained and lined with rock silt checks to minimize the discharge of sediment laden water into the stream. Impervious dikes will be used to help divert the stream during culvert construction. The existing abutments and bridge structure will be completely removed. The right culvert barrel will have a 1' concrete sill and will serve as the low flow barrel and the left barrel will have a 2' sill which will transition into floodplain benches upstream and downstream of the culvert. No channel modifications are proposed for this project outside of the right of -way. Existing drainage patterns are being maintained.
