along SR 1927 (Old Morganton Road) in Caldwell County, North Carolina.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), Division 11 is beginning the project
development, environmental, and engineering studies for the proposed bridge replacement, of Bridge No.
130332 over Abingdon Creek along SR 1927 in Caldwell County, North Carolina. The project proposes to
replace the existing bridge over Abingdon Creek within the Town of Gamewell. The project is scheduled for
right-of-way in the fiscal year 2024 and let in the fiscal year 2025. The coordinates of this project are
approximately 35.881399,-81.584400. The attached figures depict the project location.
NCDOT staff or their consultants may be contacting you to request project -specific information. While we do
not expect a response to this notification, we welcome your input if you have time -sensitive concerns. Your
input will be used in the development of environmental documentation prepared pursuant to the National
Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and/or State Environmental Policy Act. We would appreciate any
information that may be helpful in evaluating the potential environmental effects of the proposed project, as
well as recommended alternatives to be considered. If applicable, please identify any permits or approvals
which may be required by your organization.
