This letter is in response to NOV-2023-LR-0046 the Town of Ramseur received for late discharge monitoring
reports (DMR's) for permit number NC0026565. After speaking with Mr. Terry Lewallen the ORC over the
waste water treatment facility, he informed me the reason for the late submission was due to not having lab results
back from samples he had sent off. We currently use Waypoint Analytical which just recently purchased
Environment One. From personal experience with this lab since the changeover to Waypoint occurred, we have
had issues with not receiving the right sample bottles and some prolonged results. It does seem things are starting
to settle in a little more and the services seem to be getting better.
I did speak to Mr. Jesse Barnes with NCDEQ and he informed me that the WWTP DMRs were still behind for the
months of July and August. Mr. Lewallen informed me that he had been waiting on lab results from Waypoint in
order to complete his DMR's. He did tell me he had received the information needed to complete both DMR's
and was going to work on getting those submitted before the end of the week. Going forward we plan to stay on
top of Waypoint to get these results back to us within a reasonable time frame in order to get these DMR's
completed and submitted within the required time frame of 30 days.
The Town of Ramseur, ORC Lewallen, and myself are committed to meeting these guidelines going forward. If
you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you,
