Inspection Summary:
The review period for this inspection was August 2021 through August 2023. There were no violations over the review period.
The majority of the treated wastewater from the City of Kinston is discharged through NPDES permit NC0024236.
The Sycamore trees on the irrigation site are dying due to tight compaction of the soil. The City is working with their
Engineering firm to discuss which cover crop is best suited for the spray fields.

Comment: The effluent flow meter calibration expired on August 3, 2023. The effluent flow meter needs to
have a sensor replaced so it can be calibrated. The facility stated they will not spray until the
flow meter has been repaired and calibrated.
The May 2023 NDMR and NDAR was spot checked for accuracy with no discrepancies found

The North Carolina Division of Water Resources conducted an inspection of the Johnnie Mosley Regional
WRF on 10/03/2023. This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance
with the conditions and limitations specified in Non -discharge Permit No. WQ0029289. The findings and
comments noted during this inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the inspection report
entitled "Compliance Inspection Report".
