The temporary pool is set by the invert of the lowest bypass invert (in this case, the bypass weir at elevation 193.7’). The minimum required treatment volume may pond to a shallower elevation (193.36’ per the calculations), but the design volume is based on the temporary pool surface elevation (which is based on the invert of the lowest bypass). We will be in the office today & Kaitlin will be in tomorrow. Please reach out to Kaitlin to arrange the submission drop off. I noticed that the temporary pool was calculated at 193.36 and this is consistent across all calculations, narrative, and plans. However, the O-M-EZ form is reporting 193.7. Based on the checking and rechecking of calculations, may I just update the O-M-EZ form and resubmit that? Also, I have done as recommended and resized the drawdown to 2.0” after analyzing the treatment volume. I will submit the following based on this revision:  Revised O-M-EZ and SuppEZ forms (from 193.70 to 193.36)  Revised narrative reporting drawdown volumes and times.  Revised drawdown calculation for design and treatment volumes.  Revised plan sheet C4.2 (from 2.5” orifice to 2.0” orifice) Please advise if this will be sufficient for the final approval. Also, will you be available tomorrow for hand delivery? Regards, John John F. Everything looks good except for a few small issues: Please correct the following: - Prior Comment 1d – There still appears to be an issue with the drawdown calculations, The starting water elevation is shown as 193.36’ which does not correspond to the temporary pool surface elevation (193.7’) which impacts the driving head used to determine the rate of drawdown of the design volume. Please ensure that the starting water elevation (and by extension, driving head and drawdown rate) is based on the temporary pool surface elevation (193.7’ per the invert of the bypass mechanism on the outlet structure). NOTE: While not required per the MDC, it is recommended to size the drawdown orifice so that both the design volume (21,695 cf) and minimum required treatment volume (13,651 cf) drawdown within the required 2-5 day window (reducing the size of the drawdown orifice from 2.5” to 2.0” should address this). Please revise as needed. Please provide the following: - 1x hard copy & 1x electronic copy of the revised calculations. - 1x hard copy & 1x electronic copy of the revised Supplement-EZ Form Pages. - 2x hard copies & 1x electronic copy of the revised plan sheets (if applicable). - 1x hard copy & 1x electronic copy of any other items needed to address this issue. Hard copies should be mailed to me at the following address: For FedEx/UPS: Jim Farkas 512 N. Salisbury Street, Office 640M Raleigh, NC 27604 For USPS: Jim Farkas 1612 Mail Service Center Raleigh, NC 27699-1612 Hand Delivery: Please reach out to me prior to hand delivering a submission to make sure that I (or someone else in my group) will be able to receive the submission. Do not leave the package in the foyer with the security guard. NOTE: Hard copies should not be sent to a Regional Office. Doing so will delay the review process and the submission package may be lost while being sent from the Regional Office to me in the Central Office. Electronic copies should be uploaded at the following location: https://edocs.deq.nc.gov/Forms/SW-Supplemental-Upload Since these are really minor things, once I get the hard copies, anything else that may have changed from addressing these issues, and the documents are uploaded to Laserfiche (Provided everything is still in order), we can issue the permit without doing another formal review. Let me know if you have any questions. 3 Jim Farkas State Stormwater Engineer North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality Office: (919) 707-3646 Jim.farkas@deq.nc.gov From: Farkas, Jim J Sent: Tuesday, March 7, 2023 7:48 AM To: guyljr@lampemanagement.com; terryw@lampemanagement.com; john@csd-engineering.com; robert@csd- engineering.com Cc: Joyner, Melissa <melissa.joyner@ncdenr.gov> Subject: RE: SW6221201 Ample Storage Good Morning, The Division of Energy, Mineral and Land Resources (DEMLR), received additional information for a Stormwater th Management Permit Application for the subject project on December 6, 2022.
