This correspondence is with reference to the request you submitted to modify State Permit No. 98-23, which was
originally issued to Meyerhoffer Associates, LLC on August 29, 2023 for construction of a new private docking
facility and bulkhead installation at 1475 Kings Landing Road in Hampstead, NC. The permit is due to expire on
April 29, 2028.
The permittee is requesting to extend the pier adjacent to the permitted gazebo. The proposal includes a 5 ft. long
by 6 ft, wide pier extension within the footprint of the permitted docking facility (see attached drawing dated
received on September 25, 2023). The access pier is not counted towards total platform area.
Upon review of the information provided, the Division of Coastal Management has determined that the proposed
action continues to be consistent with existing State rules and regulations and is in keeping with the original
purpose and intent of the permit. I hereby submit this Letter of Refinement authorizing the modification of State
Permit #98-23, as described in your request dated September 21, 2023. Please note this refinement does not
alleviate the need to obtain any other local, state or federal permits.
