HomeMy WebLinkAboutBarron_Storm_Water_NOTESBrian, This is news to me. Rock trenches with filter fabric and soak pipes is one of the approved methods that is straight out of the NCDEQ stormwater design manual and has been used hundreds of times at all the beach communities. However, if the loyal community you are working with won't accept them, I guess there is no other chaise but to change the design. That said, I will need more info. about what they want before I can tell if we can assist or not. Generally when it comes to stormwater engineering, all we do is rock trench systems and do not get involved in other types such as sand filters, bio-retention ponds, rain gardens, etc. Iftheyjust want some kind of catch basin that collects the water and pipes the runoff directly into the creek, that would be unusual because it can allow pollution to enter the waterway and is normally not allowed, so I am not sure what they are asking for. Ifthey are looking for a vegetative filter system, that is beyond what we do, and I would need to refer you to another engineer. Please let me know once they provide some clarification. FYI - The square footage over the NRB setback line is 369.5 s.f.
