The site is located just outside the small town of Winton and is currently being used for agriculture Land use in the
project vicinity is primarily commercial timber land, agriculture, and low density residential development

The project's purpose is to install a ground- mounted solar photovoltaic array.
3e Describe the overall project in detail, including the type of equipment to be used -
The proposed site improvements consist of installing ground - mounted, fixed -tilt solar panels, three concrete
equipment/inverter pads and perimeter fencing Typically, for ground - mounted solar systems, the panels are installed
2' to 3' above grade and mounted on a steel -frame racking system supported by posts which are driven into the
ground. Additionally, an existing culvert under the property's gravel access road is no longer functioning correctly,
therefore, it will be replaced and lengthened slightly to mitigate problems in the future
Typical equipment/machinery used for installation includes*
• Pile drivers for the installation of the posts for the racking system,
• Backhoes to dig the trenches for any underground electrical lines,
• Concrete trucks to pour the concrete equipment/inverter pads;
• Forklifts to move the racking system /solar equipment;
• Dump trucks for aqgregate to be used on temporary construction entrances /permanent driveway entrances

inlet protection is proposed to mitigate any sedimentation build up.

NCDENR standards, at the culvert's downstream end, a temporary rock check dam will be used during construction for
