Dear Permittee:
The North Carolina Division of Water Resources conducted an inspection of the Newton Grove Collection
System on 9/15/2023. This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in
compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in Collection System Permit No. WQCSD0248.
The findings and comments noted during this inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the
inspection report entitled "Compliance Inspection Report".
There were no significant issues or findings noted during the inspection and therefore, a response to this
inspection report is not required. However, there are several issues found during the inspection which do need
to be corrected:
-No spill response plan was available upon inspection.
-the audible alarm at Station 1 (parkside) was not working
-Neither the visual nor audible alarms worked at pump station 3 (McDonalds)
-the wet well at pump station 4 (trailer park) has accumulated debris and needs to be cleaned
-pump station 5 (high school) does not have a sign
