Hi Mr. Pinto,
I've had a chance to review the application you submitted for a driveway you'd like to construct at your property at Lake
Royale, and I just need one more piece of information.
I see that you're proposing to provide your own mitigation for this project, but unfortunately, that's only allowed in an
extremely limited set of circumstances. You will need to get what's called a Statement of Availability (SOA) of credits
from an approved mitigation bank in the Tar -Pamlico River Basin. Mitigation credits can be purchased from an approved
mitigation bank. To get to this list, follow these steps:
-Google "Water Resources/NC DEQ"
-Click on "401 & Buffer Permitting Branch"
-Scroll down and click on "Nutrient Offset and Buffer Mitigation Program"
-Scroll down and click on highlighted "approved mitigation bank"
You've correctly calculated the number of credits to reserve at 1,620. Once you get the SOA, feel free to email it me so I
can include it with the file.
