SUBJECT: TIP U-5809
Construct median, sidewalks, and roundabouts along
U.S. 601 (State Street) from S.R. 1742 (Sharon Drive) to
S.R. 1146 (Lee Avenue) in Yadkinville, NC.
Thompson Gordon Shook Engineers, Inc., d/b/a TGS Engineers, has been retained by
the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) Highway Division 11 to
provide comprehensive professional engineering and environmental services for the
subject project. Included as part of these services, TGS Engineers will complete a
Categorical Exclusion (CE) prepared in accordance with the National Environmental
Policy Act. This project is federally funded.
This project proposes to construct median, sidewalks, and roundabouts along U.S.
601 (State Street) from S.R. 1742 (Sharon Drive) to S.R. 1146 (Lee Avenue) in the
Town of Yadkinville, in Yadkin County, NC.
We would appreciate any information you might have that would be helpful in
evaluating potential environmental impacts for this project. Please respond by
October 20, 2023, so that your comments may be used in the development of this
project. Copies of the Vicinity Map (Fig. 1), Study Area Map (Fig. 2), and USGS
Topographic Map (Fig. 3) are attached for your use.
