Dear Mr. Bailey:
On September 12,2023, Brian Lambe from the Wilmington Regional Office of the Division of Energy, Mineral,
and Land Resources(DEMLR), conducted a compliance evaluation inspection of Anchorage Marina in Carteret
County. The site drains to Money Island Slough,which is currently classified as Class SA HOW Waters in the
White Oak River Basin.
The following observations were noted during the DEMLR inspection (please see the attached addendum for
additional information about your permit):
1)Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan(SPPP)
A Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SPPP)was not available during inspection.
2)Qualitative Monitoring
Qualitative monitoring has not been conducted and recorded in accordance with permit requirements.
3)Analytical Monitoring
Analytical monitoring has not been conducted and recorded in accordance with permit requirements.
The site does not appear to conduct boat maintenance onsite. If this is true, please contact this office to
review permit options including permit rescission or no exposure certificate.
Thank you for your assistance and cooperation during this inspection. Please be advised that violations of the
NPDES Stormwater General Permit may be subject to a civil penalty assessment of up to$25,000.00 per day

Inspection Summary:
Anchorage Marina does not appear to provide any boat maintance onsite. If this is true, you may submit a no exposure
application or permit rescission application. The no exposure would reduce your permit requirements and eliminate the
annual fee. The rescission would only be allowed if absolutely no maintenance is performed onsite.
Please notify this office of your intentions.
If you do not want to persue the proposed course of action,you will need to provide a stormwater pollution prevention plan
and monitoring data to this office.
