Section D: Summary of Finding/Comments (Attach additional sheets of narrative and checklists as necessary) August 30, 2023 — Inspection Summary — NC0088749 On August 28, 2023, Division of Water Resources staff Gary Hudson conducted a routine compliance inspection at the Lissara WWTP. Crystal Messick was present during the inspection. A review of the October 2022, and April 2023 eDMR were compared to laboratory bench sheets. No discrepancies were noted. During the inspection, no violations or items of concern were noted. The following treatment components were inspected: Permit: The permit became effective on February 1, 2019, and expires on January 31, 2024. Mr. Ramey is currently working on completing the renewal application. Please be advised that renewal applications are due 180 days before the existing permit expires. Preliminary Treatment: Preliminary treatment consists of the individual septic tank/filter systems located at each of the residences. Primary Treatment: Primary treatment consists of two large flow equalization basins (FEB). Both units were operating properly during the inspection. Secondary Treatment: Secondary treatment consists of two activated sludge basins (ASB) running in parallel operation, and two secondary clarifiers, also running in parallel operation. All units were operating properly during the inspection. Final Effluent: A tablet chlorinator with 6 tablet tubes is used for disinfection, and a tablet de -chlorinator with 6 tablet tubes is used for de -chlorination. The effluent flow meter was calibrated on February 27, 2023. Sludge Digestion: Sludge digestion consists of two aerobic digesters. Comment: The WWTP appeared to be well operated and maintained. No discrepancies were noted during the inspection. Page#
