As stipulated in our covenants, no lot may have a pier or dock. As Figure 1 illustrates, we have two community docks, each containing 9 boat slips: Dock Facility A on the ICWW near day beacon 100 and Dock Facility B on Mill Creek. No work is to be done at Dock Facility A on the ICWW. This application involves work to be done solely at Dock Facility B on Mill Creek. We recently received a Minor Modification to permit 33-17 to demolish and rebuild Dock Facility B (see Figure 2). The water depths at Dock Facility B range from -1.5' to -2.5' NLW (see Figure 2). We seek to dredge the area of the boat slips to -4.0' NLW (to allow access at all tidal stages) and under the floating docks to -3.0' NLW at Dock Facility B. The shallow depth under the floating docks is causing structural strain (the docks will rest on mud at extreme low tides in February/March) and contributing to shoaling of the slips. Major Permit 175-07 would cover dredging of our boat slips, but not the area under the floating docks (see Figure 3). Thus, we seek to modify permit 175-07 to include the area under the floating docks in the dredge footprint (see Figure 4).
