Rebecca — I have received the Notice of Violation involving the property owned by Stump Financial
Corporation in Ashe County, NC (Site # WT003447). I will be working closely with our caretakers at
the site, Susan and Bill Carter, to make sure we comply with the two items listed in the notice including:
1) A 401 Water Quality Certification application (after the fact permit) will be filed as soon as possible.
Your guidance will be followed closely so the application is completed properly and promptly.
2) The impacted riverbank will be sloped back to a 3:1 slope as soon as possible but certainly within the
time frame you have stated. In addition to correcting the slope, our goal will be to "ensure that
vegetation is protected and maintained in any areas immediately adjacent to the river."
I will remain involved with this matter until it is resolved to your satisfaction. If there is anything else
you need from the Carters or from Stump Financial Corporation, please let us know as soon as possible.
