This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in Collection System Permit No. WQCSD0272. A summary of the findings and comments noted during the inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the inspection report. The Collection System Non-sampling inspection was conducted by Division of Water Resources staff from the Fayetteville Regional Office. The following violation was noted during the inspection: Inspection Area Description of Violation Pump Stations The backup generators are not maintained and would not run. The sewer maps were detailed and were available digitally and in paper copies. The grease control education is distributed regularly on the water bill and is also available on the town website. The spill response plan was provided and had all required information. Additionally, the maintenance logs and pump station logs were available. The manholes that were inspected had no issues. The right of way to pump station 4 was maintained properly. The pumps at stations 1,2, 3, and 5 were operational. The following issues were found during the inspection: -All generators need to be fixed and maintained. The backup generators at stations 1,2, and 3 would not crank for various issues. The generator at station 5 would crank but would run only a short period before shutting off. - Pump station 3 is missing the 24 hour notification sign. -NCDEQ was not notified that pump station 4 has been on a bypass setup for at least one month.
