We propose to replace the existing bridge with a precast box culvert with low flow sills. The silis will inaintai�� stream dimension and pattern similar to existing conditions. The ctdvPrt slope will be 1.0%. Stream slope at the site is 0.8%. Total culvert impact will be 29 linear feet witl� 41' of rip rap at the inlet and outlet for bank stabilization. A temporaiy iinpe�vious dikc will be installed for dewatering during installation. Brevard Creek is an a���proximately 10 foot wide stream witt� a predominately gravel, cobble, and sand subsh�ate. Bre��ard Creek is classified as Class C. Existing channel moiphology will be maintained upstream and downstream of the culvert. The culvect will be placed below existing sh�eambed elevation whenever possible. Riparian vcgetation will be reestablisl�ed aloug disturbed areas associated with the culvert consu�uction. The bridge was surveyed for bats and none were observed. Tree removal for the prqject �vill occur outside of the May ] 5-August 15 morltorium period for Northern Long- eared bats. As a part of the 401 Certification proeess, U�e project was processed through the DOT Programmatic Agreement for Ivlinor Project as required by Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 a�id GS 121-12(a). No Historic Resources will be affected.
